Hey Tema, thanks for dropping by.
Indeed, there's a long way to go with regards to content presentation — figuring out how to manage it fluently. Hopefully this year will continue to bring us a good taste of what's to come.

I hope you are right, that a solution to information overload will happen this year! It certainly is necessary.

I was excited by the idea of Twine, although watching the full length video/demo (http://www.podtech.net/scobleshow/technology/1711/twine-semantic-web-tool-revealed) it also starts to look overwhelming to manage. It is getting closer, but we've still got a long way to go in figuring out how to deal with it all.

@Tom
Hey Tom and welcome!
Indeed, the internet and related technologies are still in their infancy, in a way :)

@lubczonok
Hey Pawel, welcome as well.
You're right, current techniques for producing machine processable data are limited, but we're slowly overcoming obstacles. And there are also many things that can be done to improve the situation without advanced AI behind the wheel.

@Nils
I do think you present great points in your video prediction. Increasing usage of mobile devices and the advances in underlying technologies will definitely make new kind of stir online.

Recently, I’ve been trying to explain feeds to people, telling them how much easier their lives will be, but I feel like a fraud. I’m just pushing them over the edge, to drown in 1000+ posts just like me :)

Hahaha.

See? Yours is better. All we need now, though, is that my vids get indexed in your knowledge network and we're all set. Not sure that's something for 2008 however.

But you're right, semantics and better sifting through content is what we're in need of. I chuckled at your RSS remark.
I agree with your comments, however, current forms of expression for sharing knowledge that are machine understandable are still quite limited. The one who comes up with the form of expression that is adequate will rule the web. Current assumption is that the best way for humans to express knowledge is the natural language. This is not necessarily true in the context of the web. For example, in the field of mathematics shakespearian english only, would not allow for mathematics to develop.

I agree with your points iro social collaboration. In fact, the MS desktop and how things are structures in windows are not designed for this sharing/collaborative world which it actually is. That is why desktop should resamble something like FaceBook.

Cheers

Greetings, I'm a reader of Nils' blog hence I become a reader of yours too :).

I would agree with you on the '08 web. The increasing move to online presence and a unified network for... everything. The internet can be the ultimate book, movie, and music player in some ways can't it?

Great read :).
