When viewing single entries on the site you’ll probably notice that random images linked to posts now appear on the sidebar. This is a little experiment on my part, as I’m considering some options for a site overhaul I’m planning in the near future (more on that later). If you play around with this and encounter something bizarre (bug or otherwise), I’d appreciate it if you’d drop me a line.

I just got mail from the folks over at RedOrbit informing me that Think Artificial has been chosen as a Red Hot Blog of the Day. I had a quick look at some of the previous Red Hotties, which includes blogs like Neurophilosophy, The Singularity Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Seth Godin’s and Paul Stamatiou’s — which I’m pretty proud to share a place with on that list. Many thanks!

I just finished updating the
Artificial Creativity page. It now sports an
External Links section which I’m sure will provide the enthused with some food for thought. Suggestions for new links are welcomed in the comments of this entry.

It’s an unfortunate fact that there’s no single, online information source that covers machines that can compose music, invent patentable ideas, or make up stories on their own (yes, all of these exist). So, let’s fix that, shall we?
Today I’m introducing something new on Think Artificial: A Living Article. It’s not exactly a blog entry, wiki nor a static page, but an article that I intend to gradually add to and improve upon. The article is an easy-read overview of artificial creativity, or at least the beginning of one. You can always find it through the main menu, and I’ll be posting notifications whenever it’s significantly updated. Moreover, I invite you to help create it!

Apparently, the technoscape of this poor little island of mine is doomed to face continuous hiccups. My home connection has now been dead the entire weekend with no substantial explanation for why. I’m writing this at the lab, my main medium for information and expression cut in half by what appears to be blatant carelessness.

Fantastic news! Think Artificial has been accepted into the 9rules network — one of the most prominent and high quality blog networks around! I consider the inclusion an awesome honor and recognition. New members haven’t been officially announced yet, but seeing as the 9rules leaf is up on Think Artificial I thought it best to explain. Update: Announcement is up!

I upgraded Wordpress yesterday and have been noticing some minor quirks here and there on Think Artificial that I’ve needed to fix. The ugliest of which is the damaging of special characters in the blog entries. I’m working on fixing everything but please be patient. Let me know if you come across something strange around here! -hthth

I’m back baby. Renourished and ready to roll. First thing’s first: Two weeks without a computer proved an interesting experience, but putting myself back into the web-savvy circles is proving even more interesting. Blog posts have piled up, along with email, news and all sorts of spam to sift trough. Yargh. The web monster demands my attention. (Doesn’t help that my mouse feels strangely unfamiliar.) I’m picking up a vision; yes, I see constant computer use and several liters of coffee in my future. Expect Think Artificial to kick back into full gear in the next few days. [Updated!]
