I can understand that. I am trying to work with my colleagues on a successful general strategy to introduce a random average person to transhumanist ideas (including AGI and so on). So far we outlined two groups of problematic reactions - 1) people don't understand (either because they don't see the connection to their real life or because they can't appreciate the scale of change), 2) people reject (either because the ideas violate one of the many myths they believe about the reality and contradicts their worldview or because they understand it and are scared).

Sadly, the only reasonable strategy that we managed to construct requries introducing people to the history of technological change first. :-( Not smalltalkish.

Dude, you've got nothing to apologize for. This isn't supposed to be a personal attack :) Like I said, I appreciate any answer I get — they give me ideas for blog articles like this one ;-)

Although I joke a lot, I really do admire the accomplishments of you and your colleagues in this area, and I am simply fascinated with the progress of A.I over the past quarter century.

That being said, I deeply apologize for ever having associated Arnold Schwarzenegger with intelligence - artificial or otherwise.
