Want a Necropathic Spectregraph?

Wait no longer, interact with your ghosts today! Call up Dr. Spengler, because currently up for sale on eBay is a Necropathic Spectregraph.

Necrophatic Spectregraph

The purpose of the machine is, and I quote:

The Necropathic non corporeal containment Spectregraph is designed for the purpose of obtaining, containing and experimenting on spirit entities. For 10 years the Necropathic Spectregraph has allowed amateurs and professionals alike to carry out complex interaction with the deceased, by influencing and stimulating electro magnetic current.

Complex interactions with the deceased? Phew, I’m having enough trouble with the complexities of the living, thank you. Screw the ghosts, sign me up for a computer that looks like that! On the aesthetic note, I find that steampunky things tend to go way overboard with golden decorations (and not in a good art nouveau fashion), but this one’s pretty well executed, I must say. Check out some more pictures on its bidding page.

  1. Looks like it would be a great conversation piece for my living room. ;) Unfortunately I’m going more with the “mod” thing–not so much antiqueing.

  2. That looks a bit like a miniature of the thing the Ghostbusters used to unload ghosts in on the first cartoon series. And I’m with Esther: definitely a great conversation piece. It would go great with the beige/brown/black neo-asian/hispanic/librarianesque-WTF theme I got going.

I’m always torn between modern, white-and-see-through minimalism interiors, and old, retro-futuristic, post-apocalyptic oddities like the Spectregraph. Hard to find a middleground there.

As much as I loved the movies when I was younger, I never saw the cartoons! Did you know they planned a third movie? Called Ghostbusters in Hell, or something like that (has to be true, I read it on the interwebz).
