Hrafn Thorri Thorisson

Hrafn at his computer.I’m Hrafn Thorri Thórisson. An Icelander born and raised, residing in Reykjavik. I am a student of the Aperio program, intended for students that, and I quote, is: “for students who have shown outstanding examples of thought leadership and creativity.

I recommend viewing my resume at Aperio. It’s more accurate. Provides a nice, compact overview of history, achievements & other candy.

(Work & Expertise)

I currently work for the Icelandic Institute for Intelligent Machines (IIIM), a non-profit institute focused bridging between academia & industry, a process better read on the IIIM website.

Previously I conducted research on intelligent systems at the Center for Analysis and Design of Intelligent Agents (CADIA). I’m the founder of Iceland’s first and only A.I. association, the Icelandic Society for Intelligence Research (ISIR).

(My Research)

I’ve been studying intelligent systems for several years; exploring the origins and nature of creativity: along with possibilities for how to replicate it in computers. The research is largely based upon complex systems (once referred to as Chaos Theory in pop-culture); mainly self-organization & emergence.

Research on creativity has been received well, including Iceland’s National Young Scientists’ Award and a nomination for the Icelandic Presidential Innovation Award.

You can have a look at my actual brain through a 3D Java Applet I created. Go on, have a look at my brain.
