Hrafn Thorri Thorisson

Thorisson's AI Club (Fight Club Spoof)Hi. I’m your host, Hrafn Thorri Thórisson, from Reykjavik, Iceland. My first name “Hrafn” means “Raven” in Icelandic.

I study Computer Science at Reykjavik University for their excellent CS facilities and increasing emphasis on artificial intelligence — fields that have my full attention (for a lot of reasons, you’d have to read the blog to get a full feel). I’m enrolled in RU’s APERIO program for promising creative leaders and thinkers.

I’m a member of RU’s Center for Analysis and Design of Intelligent Agents (CADIA), and the founder of Iceland’s first and only A.I. association, the Icelandic Society for Intelligence Research (ISIR).

(My Research)

I’ve been studying natural and artificially intelligent systems for several years, and my research has earned significant recognition, including Iceland’s National Young Scientists’ Award and a nomination for the Icelandic Presidential Innovation Award. My research emphasis is on the origins, evolution and nature of creativity and and how machines can be given creative abilities.
